Paper Museum

Paper Museum is an aptly named anthology book from Jungle Boy Press. The table of contents is a layout of a museum, on which each of the stories contained within are inscribed in different rooms, as though they were exhibits. This idea cleverly supports the theme of the publication’s title. Publisher/writer Jai Nitz won a grant from the Xeric Foundation, a private, non-profit corporation established by Peter Laird, (the co-creator of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), to aid self-publishing comic book creators.

The package is an eclectic collection of stories ranging from a steam-powered cowboy, to the “true” story of Amelia Earhart. A story about the return of an old boyfriend, now a spy on and on the run from mysterious creatures, who infuses some unexpected excitement into the life of his happily married ex-girlfriend, is especially satisfying.
