In 2000, Top Cow Productions began offering high-quality, black and white reprints of its most sought-after titles, including this tale from J. Michael Straczynski, creator of TV’s Babylon 5 and Top Cow’s Rising Stars. While investigating a brutal murder, Los Angeles homicide detective Lt. David Grey begins to hear whispers about The Men, an insidious cabal of supernatural killers who rend their victims limb from limb. Dismissing the rumors as urban legends, Grey follows a trail of blood and body parts, determined to find a flesh-and-blood killer. But even this hardboiled detective must set aside what he knows of reality, as he becomes part of the shadowy world that is the Midnight Nation. Even if you have the full four-color run of this series, this black-and-white version is worth picking up. The artwork of Gary Frank (Incredible Hulk) loses nothing in the de-colorization. In fact, it only enhances the mood of the story, which merges the world of the noir detective thriller with the visceral terror of the goriest horror story
