X-Men Anniversary Magazine

™ and ©1993 Marvel Entertainment Group

It began as a teenage spinoff of the Avengers. Thirty years later, the X-Men had become one of Marvel’s biggest moneymakers, dwarfing the team they were created to imitate, and starring in almost a dozen monthly titles.

To celebrate thirty great years of the X-Men, Marvel issued this one-shot anniversary special. Inside are profiles on the writers and artists for the series (including former stand-up comedian/current chief X-Men writer Scott Lobdell). Also featured are previews of the X-Men Adventures’ second series on TV, the new X-Men 2099 title, and previously unpublished character sketches. Perhaps best is a “where are they now” rundown of the two hundred or so major characters that figure prominently into the world of the X-Men.
