Cyberella

“Cyberella is pretty funny stuff. It’s also about a lot of things I consider pretty important—television, advertising, capitalism run rampant, image over substance, and let’s not forget, the ever-popular personal betrayal.” There, in the words of writer Howard Chaykin, is the essence of DC’s free-wheeling, near-future, corporate hellworld satire.

Cyberella began as the fictional creation of entertainment conglomerate Macrocorp—a 1920s cartoon character called Li’l Ella who morphed over the years into a net-based role-playing game used for behavioral control in the 21st century. Enter Sunny Winston, a feisty young woman with an unusual gift for strategy and connections to the evil head of Macrocorp. Add a well-timed freak power surge, and suddenly Macrocorp’s got a whole lot of trouble.
