Spider-Man: The Arachnis Project

The Arachnis Project is an six-issue limited series starring America’s favorite webslinger. It begins with Spider-Man busting Styx and Stone, a couple of super-powered thugs who tried to rob a Wall Street firm. In doing so, Spider-Man learned that a secret organization was “auditioning” criminals in the Washington, D.C. area. Those trying out were asked to steal certain priceless antiquities from places like the Smithsonian, the National Archives, and the Library of Congress. Strangely, there seemed to be no clear pattern to the objects stolen.

Meanwhile, Peter Parker’s old college biology professor had become involved in some shadowy games of his own. One of the professor’s students had discovered a file called “the Arachnis Project” on the professor’s computer, only to be killed moments later. Parker decided to investigate as Spider-Man, only to encounter a deepening mystery—and more super-villains than you can shake a webline at!
