Sgt. Rock’s Combat Tales

    (DC, 2005)
™ and © 1958-1960, 2005 DC Comics, Inc.

With issue 81 of Our Army At War back in April of 1959, comic book readers were introduced to Robert Kanigher’s Sgt. Rock and the men of Easy Company. A similar character had popped up the previous year in “The DI and the Sand Fleas” in G.I. Combat number 56, but the Rock quickly developed into a continuing series of stories.

Set mostly in the European theater of operations, this digest edition collects many of the earliest tales of the good Sergeant and his men during the hottest fighting of WW2. Now new readers have a chance to relive some of those classic tales and see why Easy Company has a reputation that has lived through the decades of comic book warfare.
