Starstream

Starstream seemed more like a comic book adaptation of a science-fiction anthology than a regular comic book. The series consisted of four different issues, each bound in heavy card stock, and costing a then-high price of 79¢. The stories were primarily adaptations from some of the greatest science-fiction writers. This included works from Larry Niven, Theodore Sturgeon, Isaac Asimov, Poul Anderson, and others.

Ironically, some of the more enjoyable tales were those which were written specifically for Starstream (especially the delightfully silly “Ben Franklin-Martian”). Perhaps this is because they worked better in the condensed format necessary to pack four or more stories into a single issue of Starstream.
