Knighthawk

    (Windjammer, 1995)
™ and ©1995 Neal Adams

(From the Slings & Arrows Comic Guide)

Originally planned as a Continuity title, this shares all the trademarks of that company’s titles: superb artwork coupled with unreadable stories. For what it’s worth, Knighthawk himself is a sort of cross between Batman and the Angel, but the stories never rise above perfunctory, and the dialogue is quite appalling. This is offset, however, by the breath-taking art of Ernesto Infante (aided by Continuity founder Neal Adams), who manages to combine exquisite figurework with incredible dynamism. Interestingly, Knighthawk’s alter ego is named after famed romance artist J. Scott Pike. What can it all mean…? ~DAR
