Dr. Robot Special

™ and ©2000 Bernie E. Mireault

A stereotypical lab-coated scientist named Dr. Robot has constructed a giant mechanical man that he inhabits and operates for a variety of purposes. Sometimes he climbs into the head of his seemingly innocuous robot to thwart the plans of an evil tyrant with the built in weaponry. Other times he will curb the rage of a subterranean monster by amazing him with card tricks. And sometimes he’ll just meet a female robot scientist with similar interests.

Dr. Robot is a whimsical strip presented entirely without dialogue by Bernie E. Mireault (The Jam). Although the robot is largely a machine that the doctor operates, it also has displayed sentience and a disarming personality, as evidenced when the doctor was compelled to build it a companion to bolster the robot’s self-esteem.

This special reprints the four backup stories that originally appeared in Madman Comics, #12-15.
