Ah, the life-styles of the adventurous and scantily clad! Southwestern bad girl Lady Rawhide is back, and this time she’s mixing it up with vampires and pirates on the high seas in a tale that introduces the beautiful and deadly Scarlet Fever! This limited series from writer Don McGregor (Detectives Inc.) and artist Esteban Maroto (The Atlantis Chronicles) also follows up on the fate of Carmelita Rodriguez, a beautiful young woman who was seduced by the Lord of the Vampires in Dracula vs. Zorro.

This 1999 series from Image Comics reprints the earlier Lady Rawhide (Vol. 2) from Topps, with redesigned covers which evoke memories of 1930s pulp paperbacks. The other format change is color—or the lack thereof in the new version’s interior pages. Given the pulp nature of this story, however, the switch to black and white serves this series well.
