Body by Taylor: Girls and Other Musings

Kevin J. Taylor’s appreciation for the female form is clear throughout his erotic art, most notably Girl. This oversized collection is devoted to “girls and other musings,” but those musings are pretty much just about the women, or girls, he draws. Behind every beautiful nude, it seems, is a story. For example, who knew that Taylor has numerous female fans, too, who approach him at art exhibitions? And that he had once wanted to get a gig drawing Vampirella, but didn’t care much for what was being done with the character?

While Taylor contributes plenty of informative anecdotes, the primary appeal of these full-color paintings is clearly the naked women, and about half of them are either comic book characters, like the Black Cat, or celebrities, like Traci Lords. Taylor describes one drawing as “both sexy and nasty,” and those terms can be applied to most of this collection.
