Mission Impossible (Marvel)

™ and ©1996 Paramount Pictures

This one-shot special served as a prequel to the 1996 blockbuster movie starring Tom Cruise. Cruise plays Ethan Hunt, one of the more dashing members of the IMF: the Impossible Missions Force. Just as in the old television series, they are a top-secret group that is sent in to take on terrorists, infiltrate governments, or pull off other such incredible feats. All members of the IMF are masters of disguise, as well as possessing their own unique talents, such as computer hacking. Working together (in what is usually an amazing complex manner), they become unstoppable agents for our government—although the government considers them expendable, and each mission begins with the warning that if any agent is captured or killed, all knowledge of their activities will be disavowed.

In this special, they are asked to eliminate a Russian nationalist who has stolen a deadly missile. But as usual, there is far more to the situation than meets the eye…
