“Gravedigger” McCrae is a professional thief teamed with five other hardened criminals—Red, Bunny, B.T., Goodis, and Red’s wife, Angel, for the perfect caper. While the heist rolls off by the numbers, the getaway is another story. When Digger (visually based on tough–as–nails actor Lee Marvin) falls for the lovely Angel, the double–crosses start and the dominoes fall until the hot Mexican sand runs red with blood and betrayal. Full of nasty twists, blazing gunplay and tough broads, The Scavengers is a bloodstained saga of lust and revenge. The story is also printed horizontally instead of vertically to make the reader’s experience more cinematic.
