Strange

After years without his own series, Doctor Strange is back again. This time he’s a cocky, just-out-of-medical school, plastic surgeon who has all the luxuries any person could ever want. But a strange encounter with an old man in the Tibetan mountains, a promise to an orphan named Wong, and the death of a teacher named Dr. Milius all lead him to reevaluate what he’s been doing with his life and begin to think that he’s made the wrong choices. How he’ll become the Master of Mystic Arts has yet to be revealed but after suffering a major skiing accident, you can bet that revelation is coming soon.

Brandon Peterson has long said that Doctor Strange was the book he has always wanted to draw. His art in this issue is beautiful, and what’s to come in future issues, ones that actually feature Doctor Strange as we know him, will be even better. It’s also going to be fun to see what type of edgier material Straczynski and Barnes will include in this Marvel Knights series.
