Literacy is an issue that should concern us all, and this comic book featuring a number of independent publishers’ properties was published in an effort to make folks more aware of it. Aiding the cause of literacy here are Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; Larry Hancock and Mike Cherkas’ The Silent Invasion; Ken Holewczynski’s Reactoman; Dave Darrigo and R.G. Taylor’s Wordsmith; Stuart Kerr and Guy Davis’ The Realm; Randy Zimmerman and Susan Van Camp’s Aniverse; and Scott Beaderstadt and Paul Fricke’s Trollords.

This collection is also notable because it features the first professional comic book artwork of the late Mike Parobeck (The Fly, Justice Society of America, The Batman Adventures).
