Conan Saga

Launched in 1987, Conan Saga became the third black-and-white, magazine-sized comic to feature the adventures of Conan. As with Savage Sword of Conan, this magazine proved that the Cimmerian warrior does not need color printing in order to be vivid and memorable. Indeed, the black-and-white artwork helps to evoke a grittier, pulp-fiction sensibility well-suited for these stories.

The tales contained in this series were reprints of the earlier Conan the Barbarian series, particularly the long Roy Thomas/John Buscema run which was a highlight of that title. In addition, issues brought reference and background material, including indexes of the various Robert E. Howard/Sprague de Camp novel adaptations, and histories of the world of Hyboria and its chief characters.
