As the title suggests, this is a story of a young girl who runs away from home, but its focus is more on the efforts of an aging detective who comes out of retirement sworn to find her. With the aid of series regulars, noted true-crime author Raymond Fish and his associate Delphinia “Finn” Morgan, Detective Christopher Muggins organizes volunteers within an investigative workshop in order to provide the manpower needed to effectively handle the case. The story paces itself like a good Dragnet episode — mono in tone and feel, yet more and more compelling as you turn the pages. The action slowly heats up and by the end of the issue bullets are flying!

This story is self-contained — part of a quarterly series of one-shots each with its own title (Bulletproof, Wolf Run, and The Green Skull). But to make it easier for fans to follow, the creators developed a new on-going title, The Trespassers.
