Inferno (DC)

    (DC, 1997-1998)
™ and ©1998 DC Comics

Inferno is a resident of the 30th century where she is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. However, for some time in 1997, she and a number of other Legionnaires were trapped in the 20th century so they were available to participate in the Godwave event that was the basis for the Genesis mini-series.

This 4-issue mini-series focuses on the fire-wielding heroine after she had a falling out with the rest of her time-lost compatriots and set out on her own in this unfamiliar time. Like any normal teenager, she is drawn to a shopping mall where she is befriended by a recent runaway who lives there. But also residing in this mall is an unseen entity, feeding on the angst of teenagers, and who sees Inferno as an efficient source of power.

In keeping with the mall-rat theme of this series, the covers were designed to look like fashion magazine covers.
