Route 666

    (CrossGen, 2002-2004)
™ and ©2002 CrossGenerational Comics

A horrible accident involving Cassie, a college gymnast, leaves her best friend dead and Cassie in a mental institution. Of course, she does not enter the mental institution because of grief from accidentally killing her friend. It is because the ghost of her friend visits her in the middle of the night, begging her to help.

In the institution, it’s revealed that Cassie used to have abilities similar to those in The Sixth Sense; she likes to play with dead people. At least, she liked to when she was a kid. She gave it up when she got older, because her parents were starting to become concerned—but the gift has returned, and Cassie must use it to save her friend’s soul.

Everything about this comic book is done well. It seems to be another CrossGen comic book that will become a hit, because it leaves the reader on the edge of his seat, wanting to know what revelation will be made next month. This series also provides another genre CrossGen had not yet tried: horror. This first issue features ghosts and one of the most disgusting death scenes in a long time.

Route 666 is going to be another hotly anticipated comic book, as readers impatiently wait to see what follows the cliffhanger they are left with at the end of #1.
