The Barbelli sisters were regular folks, living out on Long Island, until they woke up one day to find themselves transformed. They had become something like angels, with perfect bodies, wings, and the powers of earth, air, and fire.

Naturally, trouble soon followed in the form the Ninety-Nine. These are humans who were transformed into demonic beings, and whose souls were being gathered to usher in some great apocalypse. Although the series is intentionally vague on the overall form of their conflict, it’s full of nicely written characters and stylish art by Kevin Maguire and Dan Panosian.
