Original Boy: Day of Atonement

    (Omega 7, 1996)
™ and © 1996 Omega Seven

This black-and-white title from Alonzo Washington features Omega Man, a black super-hero from the future who travels back in time to stop a plot that would endanger the proceedings at 1995’s famous “Million Man March.” This was a gathering of black men in Washington D.C. that sent the message of the African-American male’s political and social influence. Washington has created an admirable hero in the form of Omega Man—something of a spinoff of the Superman archetype, but his story is intriguing and has multicultural appeal.
