Moonstone Monsters: Sea Creatures

Moonstone looks back to the horror anthologies of comics past with this collection of terror tales. From the 50s to the 70s, these titles were quite common, but they fell way out of fashion in the late 80s as super-heroes dominated the industry. Retro label Moonstone fills a long-neglected niche. Each story is told in a different style—from the bizarre “Comfort Food” to the more lightweight “The Witch in the Woods,” which has the feel of a childhood dream. The witches’ coven cover recalls DC’s House of Mystery; however, the stories within can be compared more easily to the black-and-white weirdness of Warren magazines.
