Star Wars: Jedi—Aayla Secura

    (Dark Horse, 2003)
™ and ©2003 Lucasfilm Ltd.

Devaronian Senator Elsah'sai'moro believes there is a base for convoy raiders on her world, but is killed before naming the high ranking official that may be supplying them. Three Jedi are sent in to investigate undercover as a rich pampered Twi'lek female and her aides. But old feelings begin to surface in Aayla Secura as she remembers how the women on her home world are just as weak as the character she is portraying. Worse, the assassin/bounty hunter Aurra Sing, a woman with intense hatred for the Jedi, is involved and Aayla must not only overcome her in battle, but her feelings of loss when her former Jedi Master goes over to the Confederacy.

An interesting story set mere weeks after the Battle of Geonosis in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. Thanks to John Ostrander's fine scripting, characters that were mere background in the movie are now fleshed out with history, power, and emotion.
