This four-issue mini-series features Spawn invading the WildC.A.T.s headquarters in retaliation for what he believes was an unwarranted attack. In the ensuing fight, Spawn discovers that he might have been too hasty in his quest for revenge since the WildC.A.T.s heroes, Zealot and Grifter, are markedly different than the Zealot and Grifter who attacked him. The actual attackers emerge and reveal that, much like another villain, The Terminator, they are on a mission from the future to alter the past.

Neither Spawn nor the WildC.A.T.s know that beyond the edge of time and space, omnipotent beings are meddling with reality for their own amusement, and that our cast may be mere puppets for these ethereal entities.
