Supreme Power: Hyperion

™ and © Marvel Characters, Inc.

When the super-powered being known as Hyperion came to Earth, he was not alone. His ship carried a nanovirus which adjusted the dna of random people and gave them unique abilities. The government is still trying to figure out why, with theories ranging from providing him competition on his own level to creating a vanguard for an invading army. Now the military has pulled together a team of augmented humans to bring Hyperion in for further study and to keep him out of trouble. The only trouble is, maybe he doesn’t want to go…

Marvel Comics decided to push an adult oriented line of titles but using established Marvel characters. Supreme Power first appeared in August of 2003, with a revamped Squadron Supreme, who in turn were a group very similar to DC’s Justice League of America when they first appeared in 1971 in the pages of the Avengers. Supreme Power however is a self contained universe (similar to Marvel’s New Universe concept in the eighties) so the action promises to be familiar, but in a whole new light.
