This one-shot title stars the often overlooked Lisa Simpson, Bart Simpson’s younger (and much better behaved) sister.

In the story “Lisa in Wonderland,” she falls asleep while writing a letter, and struggling to find just the right words to express her thoughts. Just as she nods off, she is awakened by a Lewis Carroll novel that fell off a bookshelf and bonked her on the head. When she looks around, she discovers she is no longer in Springfield. Like Alice in Wonderland, she’s become Lisa in Wordland, a surrealistic place where grammar rules. Consequently, Lisa Simpson feels right at home. She follows the Wordland letter carrier, Ned Flanders, and experiences bizarre occurrences like growing huge as well as shrinking to the size of a bug. Lisa meets a dinosaur called a thesaurus, who takes forever to finish a sentence, and comes across a man who swallowed a dictionary.
