Set in early 14th century feudal Japan, this tale mixes samurai action and the supernatural to explore the different codes that warriors live and fight by to survive during this lawless period. Following the paths taken by several different characters, the story shifts between sweeping, large scale battles, individual sword fights, and travelers trying to make their way peacefully through a violent land. At the center of the conflict is an evil warlord who relies on a wizard’s dark magic to hold onto his lands.
