Pat Lee had a cult hit with Darkminds, and he might find another one with this creation, co-created by him and writer Adrian Tsang, beautifully drawn by Lou Kang in intricate visuals much like Lee’s fan-favorite style. Set in the City of Macropolis, the story concerns a number of rival gangs—the Shen-Yang, the Mohawks, and the Neon Dragons, among others. The devious Shen-Yang have a plan to unite and rule the city, and since all the other factions have joined up, the Dragons are forced to follow suit, like it or not. And they’ve got problems from within as their leader’s brother, the headstrong Neon, is more interested in personal goals than the greater good of the group. And his recklessness might get them all killed if he doesn’t grow up…. and fast. Especially after they run afoul of the hulking, savage Scavengers that terrorize the city.

Lovely to look at and intensely written, this Image series tells a fairly familiar story of a young man forced to recognize that there are more important things than private conquests.
