Power Pack (Vol. 3)

The return of an old favorite with a manga beat. In the late 1980s, the Powers children- Alex, Julie, Jack, and Katie- gained tremendous abilities as chronicled in the original Power Pack series. In this updated look, the kids are still having all the sibling problems brothers and sister always have, with the added burden of secret identities. When the youngest of the Pack wants to do a “how I spent my summer vacation” speech at school, the older children are worried that their special abilities will become revealed and place their family in danger. Yelling and screaming finally give way to patient dialog to defuse the situation, but not before talking lizards of a certain alien race trace the Pack to their own back yard.

Gurihiru’s art coupled with Marc Sumerak’s story makes for an interesting limited series
