Radioactive Man

Radioactive Man is best known as comic book character Bart Simpson’s favorite super-hero. Radioactive Man was the archetypical silly comic book character, accidentally caught in a radiation bomb test which should have killed him. Instead it left him with super-powers and a lightning bolt-shaped piece of shrapnel permanently embedded in his skull. (He desperately attempts to hide this under a hat in his civilian identity as Claude Kane III.)

In the fictional world of the Simpsons, Radioactive Man is a long-running comic book. This real life mini-series consists of six issues from the fictional run of Radioactive Man. Issue #1 of the mini-series “reprints” the shocking origin of Radioactive Man from the fictional Radioactive Man #1; the second issue covers Radioactive Man #88 from the Silver Age; and so on until the final issue, showing Radioactive Man in the “laughingly contemporary Polybagged Age.”
