World of Metropolis

The World of Metropolis is one of three interlocking mini-series created to flesh out John Byrne’s new vision of Superman (laid down in the Man of Steel mini-series). World of Metropolis moves the action away from Superman to concentrate on the other figures in Metropolis’ ongoing drama. It tells, for instance, of how Perry White nearly lost his wife to Lex Luthor, and how he reclaimed the Daily Planet when Lex wanted to turn it into a TV station. This series also sheds new light on how Lois Lane achieved her dream of becoming a reporter.

Like Gotham Nights did for Batman, World of Metropolis proved that sometimes the most interesting stories are those found in the lives of “ordinary people.”
