This two-issue limited series from Steve Parkhouse and Eclipse Comics chronicles the tale of King Artuk, the Lord of Death, and his fight to conquer the ancient land of Tairngir. Many oppose Artuk—Ruad, Caed, Bethbara—but the Lord of Death and his Legions of the Damned creep endlessly forward, insinuating themselves into the lives of those who would look to the light either by force or by deception.

Parkhouse’s writing is top-notch here—haunting and affecting—and his artwork is stunning, bringing to mind the work of legendary comic-strip artists Hal Foster (Prince Valiant) and Burne Hogarth (Tarzan).

This series was originally presented in Britain’s Warrior magazine.
