Dredd by Bisley

Like so many other English comic creators, Simon Bisley had a chance to develop his talent writing stories for 2000 A.D., a long-running British science-fiction magazine, as well as its sister publication Judge Dredd Megazine. When he made it big in America with his portrayals of Lobo, Bisley found his older work collected in this deluxe-format one-shot.

Working with writers Alan Grant and John Wagner, Bisley brought a twisted, over-the-top edge to famous lawman Judge Dredd. Featured here are several episodes of “Heavy Metal Dredd” wherein the adventures of the skull-cracking law enforcer are told in appropriately raucous lyrics. Also included are a showdown between Dredd and Santa, and the rather lowbrow tale of a smuggler known as “The Great Arsoli.”
