The P.I.’s is a three-issue series that features one of the most unorthodox team-ups that the field of private investigation has ever witnessed.

Nicola Cuti and Joe Station’s Michael Mauser is a New-York-born P.I. who fits the typical sleazy mold. Max Allan Collins and Terry Beatty’s Ms. Tree is a tough dame. She is a Chicago product who handles her cases like she dresses…with class.

The two have heard of each other (after all, they each had their own comic books!), but that was the extent of it —until they were hired separately by a troubled couple for the same case. Ms. Tree was retained by the husband, who believed that his wife was having an affair, while Mauser was hired by the wife for the very same reason. The two must learn to work together when both clients are caught up in a murder mystery of which they are the suspects.
