Think of it as Buffy the Vampire Slayer with a harder edge. For thousands of years, a secret order of the unliving has quietly ruled both the day and the night in many cities across the nation. Now, however, they find themselves threatened by an ancient prophecy that they fear is about to come to fruition. The rogues of their number will go too far, and their actions will help bring about the coming of the Scarlet Redeemer—a human savior who could destroy their ancient reign.

That savior is Bly Pharis, a popular teenager and cheerleader worried more about which party to go to than saving the world. All that changed when vampires murdered her adoptive parents, and a strange man named Karis led her to discover her destiny. Aided by a hardboiled police officer named Montero, Bly goes from being a carefree teenager to an avenging vampire-slayer!
