Life has been a long, strange trip for Courtney, and it keeps getting stranger. Her parents were hippies, idealistic to the point of foolishness, and always dreaming of a better tomorrow. But something happened to Courtney on the way to that better world. Her mother became a researcher in dreams, and Courtney…well, let’s just say she won’t be home for Christmas.

Courtney ran away from home and is spending her time on the mean streets of Gotham City. She’s more than capable of fending for herself though, because as Animus she can fly, kick around anyone short of Superman, summon “Shadow Armor” that gives her invulnerability, and drain the life out of those she fights. And when she needs to, she can unleash the really mean side of herself: a ten foot tall monster named Animus.
