While excavating a construction site in Mt. Vernon, Virginia, workmen uncover a buried foundation under the rocks. They investigate and find a passageway leading down into a hidden chamber. There, in the middle of a pentagram stood an urn. A voice came from within, tricking one of the workmen into opening it. And when he did, an evil spirit from another time was once again free on the planet. Without any hesitation it sprang forth from its crypt and began to kill…

Brian Marx was a practitioner of “random magic,” the ability to perform incredible feats such as making dollar bills talk or playing cards come to life. Brian was contacted by a mysterious group who enlisted his aid in stopping the work-site demon. But as Brian learns more about his new task, he also discovers the true nature of his employers.
