Happy Hour in America

    (Jackie No-Name, 2003-2004)
™ and © Tim Lane

Tim Lane allows us to explore “The American Mythological Drama” with chapters from his epic graphic novel, Belligerent Piano. In the first issue, we are introduced to Jackie No-Name, a man with amnesia and conflicts as he begins his travels across the United States searching for something he can’t identify. All the while, people keep getting killed, dead bodies keep appearing and Jackie is without a reason why they should be popping up around him.

Tim Lane’s black-and-white art style is detailed, even in the most surrealistic scenes and worth looking at. He has begun a company with the name of his favorite character and readers should be impressed by his art and the evolving script.
