For three weeks, Casque and his Blue Soldiers, members of an underwater race that secretly coexists with humans, have been missing. When they’re found imprisoned on the surface, Kiani insists on being a part of the rescue effort. Cannon, her guardian, hopes that Kiani can some day see past her intense hatred of humans, even as the two races inch closer to war. But they both have other concerns to worry about as the leader of the rescue mission has some kidnapping plans of his own and Cannon must take to the air to fend off a surprise attack.
