Maelstrom

Maelstrom, a simple headsman (executioner) with a trusty axe by his side, figured his assignment would be relatively easy: slay an elderly wizard at the behest of the evil witch Bad-Azz-Brash. It could have been simple, too, had he not decided to make a deal with the wizard, through which his axe was granted great power and the wizard would be able to live on after death. Unfortunately, the spell went somewhat awry, trapping the wizard in the freakish body of a bat-like creature and earning Maelstrom the enmity of the Queen of the Metaloids. The headsman’s life wasn’t to be quite so simple any longer.
