Youngbrother

    (Multicultural, 1994)
™ and ©1994 Bobby L. Jackson

This black-and-white title from Multicultural Comics stars an African-American super-hero whose origin begins when his father, Jerumah Young, leads an archeological expedition to Egypt and into the Mataba of Abu l’hawl—the Father of Terror, an ancient tomb loaded with cliffhanger-style booby traps. An artifact of great power—a mystical prism—is recovered and, through a series of unfortunate circumstances, falls into the hands of Young’s son Justin, who will use the object to right wrongs as Youngbrother. In spite of its mission to put a multicultural face on super-hero comics, Youngbrother is pretty standard fare…right down to its McFarlane-inspired art.
