The Infinity War’s villain was The Magus: the embodiment of all that was evil in Adam Warlock. To win that war, Warlock had to reabsorb The Magus into himself. But apparently, the scales of good and evil were not balanced by his action.

A being has appeared, referring to herself variously as The Goddess and The Redemptress. Claiming to be all that is opposite of Adam Warlock’s Magus, she first disposes of Warlock, then begins her grand plan. She appears before countless super-heroes who either have deep religious beliefs, or who have experienced death. To these heroes, she promises a true battle—a crusade—against pain and anguish, against Evil itself. But is this Redemptress all she appears to be? And if so, what will Evil’s response be?
