Albedo (4th Series)
(Antarctic, 1996, 1999)
™ and ©1996 S.A. Gallaci
The seemingly indestructible Albedo Anthropomorphics returned once more in late 1996 in a new volume from Antarctic. After Erma Felna found herself on the losing side of an internal power struggle within the Extraplanetary Defense Force, she was relegated to the command of a ship. Her mission is to destroy elements of the Independent Lapine Republic, which is entirely agreeable to her since they ravaged her homeworld.
The science–fiction background melded with an abundant amount of personalities to make the reader almost forget that cats, rabbits, horses, and even mice populate this story of thoughtful space opera. The action is at a minimum as most of the narrative consists of talking furry heads. Steve Gallacci’s gray–scale airbrush work coupled with monochrome markers conveys an expressive array of emotions and attitudes, especially considering the variety of this ensemble cast.
