Cartoon Quarterly

    (Gladstone)
™ and © Disney Enterprises, Inc.

An attempt to emulate good animation magazines of the past like Mindrot or Funny World, but distributed to the mass market. Cartoon Quarterly quietly folded after one issue, despite top of the line talent contributors like Jerry Beck, Jim Korkis, Leonard Maltin, and Scott Shaw! The reason for its short life probably had something to do with the similar politics that burdened Gladstone over the years regarding their licensing deals with Disney and EC. A second issue featuring a cover with Garfield the Cat was commissioned but never completed.
