Strange Tales (Marvel Deutschland)

    (Marvel Deutschland, 1999)
™ and ©1999 Marvel Deutschland

With a name like Strange Tales, anything was fair game for this title, which in its early days featured everything from monsters and mysteries to popular Marvel heroes like the Human Torch and the rest of the Fantastic Four. However, it became best-known for introducing Dr. Stephen Strange (the Sorcerer Supreme) by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and then bringing Sgt. Fury out of the war comics and making a new name for the hard-nosed, eyepatched hero as Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. in issue #135. Probably the best adaptation of secret agents like James Bond into the world of comics, this series would also introduce the ground-breaking and influential artwork of Jim Steranko.

This comic was one of a set produced by Marvel Deutschland in 1999, reprinting key Marvel Silver Age comics in German.
