Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Instead of being an adaptation of the Terminator 3 film, this begins as a prequel in comics form, which is subtitled “Before the Rise” on the cover. The Terminator series was one of the most popular licensed properties in the late 80s and early 90s. Revived by Beckett Comics to capitalize on the hype surrounding the release of Terminator 3, this comic-book version of James Cameron’s man vs. machine epic is in synch with the movies’ continuity as well as filling in some missing pieces. Before the Rise takes place in the future when the computer-controlled Skynet and its robot storm troopers, Terminators, have transformed the Earth into an apocalyptic hunting ground for humans. A group of freedom fighters plan on capturing one of the Terminators and reprogramming it for their own cause.
