To paraphrase Warren Ellis, this one-shot might be described as the love child of David Lynch and Sylvia Plath. Writer Katiejane Garside’s fractured, stream-of-consciousness narrative reads like a 48-page fugue state while Dogwitch creator Dan Schaffer’s black and white illustration takes its visual cues from Eraserhead and David Cronenberg.

Clearly intended to avoid fixed interpretations, the book ostensibly deals with a young woman in the grip of a psychotic episode. Language and text figure prominently as visual motifs while fish float through the air and a blurry lover-malefactor lurks down the hallway. Indigo Vertigo would get an R rating for strong language and sexual content.
