At the time Marvel released X-Men Unlimited, they were already publishing an unbelievable number of “X” titles: X-Factor, X-Force, X-Men, Excalibur, The Uncanny X-Men, and X-Men Adventures. Why then, another title?

To judge by X-Men Unlimited, perhaps the answer was “to do it right!” It does so at a premium price, but X-Men Unlimited uses the best of everything: the best paper, the best artwork, and yes, the best stories. In a series of giant-sized issues, X-Men gives us the X-Men as we’ve always wanted them to be: full of life, richly characterized, and exhibiting the sort of team synergy that has always made them more than the sum of their parts.
