A one-shot giveaway used to promote the History Channel’s documentary of the same name, Comic Book Superheroes Unmasked offers a humorous look at how super-heroes would react if their secrets were revealed in a TV special. However, the super-hero History Man takes the side of the documentary’s creators, ignoring demands from his costumed peers to stop the program. When unidentified super-heroes attack the History Channel’s headquarters, History Man defends them, proving his allegiance to the truth. The tale ends with a cliffhanger as the book tries to fit in as many aspects of the super-hero formula as possible.
