Bugs Bunny (2nd Series)
(DC, 2005)
™ and © 1998-2000 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
A reprinting in digest format of various short stories from DC’s Looney Tunes featuring that “wascally wabbit” of screen fame, Bugs Bunny!
Bugs first appeared on the big screen in several Leon Schlesinger animated cartoons in the late 1930s. His earliest incarnation was seen in “Porky’s Hare Hunt” directed by Ben “Bugs” Hardaway and Cal Dalton from a story by Bob Clampett. After a few more tries, 1939’s “A Wild Hare” directed by Fred “Tex” Avery came into being with a name for the character and the phrase that’s been identified with him ever since—“What’s up,
Doc?”
Bugs and his friends hit the comic book shelves in 1941 with Loonie Tunes and Merrie Melodies in issue number 1. Dell’s Four Color series gave Bugs a home book until his own title in 1953 with issue number 28 as Bugs Bunny.
